Woman killed in Loxahatchee; SWAT responds in West Palm Beach

LOXAHATCHEE. FLA. — A woman is dead following a shooting in Loxahatchee, and the suspect has barricaded himself inside a West Palm Beach hotel, according to the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office.

Shooting suspect barricaded at WPB hotel

A woman was shot and killed in the 1400 block of Tangled Orchard Trace in Loxahatchee shortly after 3 p.m. Friday. Deputies arrived to find an adult female deceased from apparent gunshot wounds.

The suspected shooter fled the scene and traveled to West Palm Beach, where investigators determined he had barricaded himself inside a room at The Ben Hotel on Narcissus Avenue.

West Palm Beach Police Department SWAT personnel responded to the hotel and deployed in an effort to safely apprehend the suspect.
