High rain chance through holiday weekend

ORLANDO, Fla. – High amounts of atmospheric moisture, combined with a mid-level area of low pressure, keep rain chances high leading into Labor Day Weekend.

Tonight

Central Florida will trend drier into Thursday night as our atmosphere begins to stabilize after rounds of rain Thursday afternoon. We will keep an isolated chance of a rogue shower or two overnight. Most of us will stay dry with lows dropping into the mid 70s.

Friday

Rain chances rebound once again into the 70% range as high moisture and a mid-level low spinning to our west adds instability. Both of these ingredients will help to spice up our sea breeze storms in the afternoon. The first half of our Friday will be mostly dry. Showers and storms will begin to develop near the west and east coast around 1-2pm, pushing towards the I-4 corridor for mid-afternoon. These storms will linger through the evening commute, fizzling out around 8pm. Highs will hit the low 90s before the cooling showers roll in.

Holiday Weekend

Rain chances remain high through Labor Day Weekend as a trough of low pressure helps to bring a cold front down into Northern Florida by Sunday. This will add moisture and instability to keep rain chances high through Monday. Expect rain chances to stay in the 70-80% range through Labor Day.
