Germany blames Russia for Leipzig airport drone attack, orders Russian consulate closed




Germany’s government on Tuesday blamed Russia for an attempted attack at Leipzig/Halle Airport on 4 August using an explosive-laden drone, and announced that it would shut down a Russian consulate among other measures against Moscow. French ​President Emmanuel Macron ​said he supported the ​adoption ‌of ⁠new European sanctions ‌against Russia after the attempted drone attack.
