FAA removes Boca Raton plane wreckage after South Beach Park crash

BOCA RATON, Fla. — A small plane crashed into the water at South Beach Park in Boca Raton Saturday morning, and the wreckage was temporarily moved to nearby Silver Palm Park off Palmetto Park Road.

The sole occupant of the plane, a female pilot, is expected to fully recover. She was taken to a hospital as a precaution following the crash.

Witnesses at the scene said they saw the plane flying very low before it landed in the water.

The Boca Raton Police Department was on scene at Silver Palm Park but could not independently confirm the wreckage is the same plane from Saturday’s crash. At 8:30 a.m. Sunday, Fronte Crane Service out of Fort Lauderdale began removing the wreckage from the Silver Palm Park boat ramp. The Federal Aviation Administration is leading the investigation into the crash.
