“This isn’t a case now of left wing, right wing or rich or poor or even in Andy Burnham’s case, which I feel he’s making it, north against south. I feel that this is what we’re being given here.
“It’s just a case of right and wrong, and what he’s trying to put on our doorstep is quite simply wrong. There’s nothing else that I can say about the situation, apart from everything that we’ve been given so far is wrong.
“It’s the wrong place. It’s on a main road. To listen to his interview yesterday, I was lost for words.”
