3 held for possessing and transporting explosives in Belagavi district

Police arrested three persons on the charges of possessing and transporting explosives in Mudalagi in Belagavi district of Karnataka on August 19.

Yudhisthir Singh Karnim Singh Chundawat, 21, student and a resident of Ammana Nagar in Mudalagi was held along with Roshan Jat and Prakash Chandanna Chata, both residents of Raibag, near Harugeri Cross on the Nippani–Mudhol State Highway. They were transporting the explosives on a motorcycle.

Authorities seized:

• 750 metres of diffuser wire for explosive (estimated value: ₹6,000)

• Gelatin Sticks: 200 units (estimated value: ₹3,000)

• Non-Electric Detonators: 100 units (estimated value: ₹3,000)

• A bike

A case was registered at Mudalagi Police Station under Section 288 of The Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS)-2023 and Section 9(B) of The Explosives Act, 1884. An investigation is on.
