‘You are CM not women fashion designer’: Tejashwi slams Nitish for remarks on female dress | India News
NEW DELHI: Rashtriya Janata Dal leader Tejashwi Yadav slammed Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar for his comment on sartorial preferences of women decades ago. Calling out the 73-year-old for his statement, Yadav said it was a “direct insult to half the population” of the state.
“Earlier, the daughters of Bihar not only wore clothes but also self-respect, self-reliance and honour, Nitish Kumar ji,” he said.
“Don’t become a ‘women’s clothing scientist’! You are CM not women fashion designer. Stop displaying your poor thinking by becoming a ‘women’s clothing expert’. This is not a statement, but a direct insult to half the population of Bihar,” he added.
He also shared the video of Nitish who was in Begusarai district as part of state-wide “Pragati Yatra”.
“Girls have become so confident. They speak so well and dress up so well. Did we see them wearing such fine clothes earlier?” the JDU supremo said in the video.
This comes days after Tejashwi’s father and RJD’s patriarch Lalu Prasad Yadav had passed a lewd comment on Nitish saying that he was participating in a women’s rally to “ogle at women”.
“Nayan sekne ja rahe hain,” he had said when asked about Nitish’s ‘Mahila Samvad Yatra’.
The remark had sparked widespread criticism from NDA leaders, who viewed it as a disrespectful attack on women demanding an apology from Yadav.
