India pacer Arshdeep Singh is winning hearts for his incredible gesture towards a fan after winning the 2025 Champions Trophy. The Men in Blue scripted history on March 9, winning their seventh ICC crown in Dubai.

They defeated New Zealand by four wickets in a nail-biting thriller to secure the trophy. While the entire squad was celebrating the historic moment on the field, Arshdeep took time out to give away a signed India helmet to one of his young supporters.

ICC have now shared a video of the heartwarming moment on Instagram. “Arshdeep Singh makes a young fan’s day with a moving gesture,” the post read.

In the video, Arshdeep was seen rocking his white winners’ blazer over India’s official kit. The 26-year-old walked alongside the boundary rope while signing the helmet with several fans waving towards him.

Arshdeep then approached an elderly woman, who gracefully received the gift before handing it over to the little fan. The young girl was overjoyed to get the signed memorabilia. The woman responded to Arshdeep’s kind gesture with a ‘thank you’ as he walked away from the stands.

While India won a record third Champions Trophy crown, Arshdeep was not featured in a single game of the ODI tournament. Given the condition of the Dubai International Stadium, Rohit Sharma consistently opted for four spinners in his playing XI throughout the tournament.

Several fans were disappointed to see the management not showing faith in the young pacer who had delivered several wickets for India in the T20I format.

There was a lot of talk about Arshdeep potentially making his Champions Trophy debut in India’s group fixture against New Zealand on March 1.

India legend Zaheer Khan had opined that it could be a major chance for the young pacer to showcase his talent on the big stage. “If there is any bit of doubt around Shami’s fitness if he’s going to be available or not in the semis and finals, then this is the opportunity for Arshdeeep to get a look in. He’s been with the team in this format but has not got a game, and you don’t want him directly facing the music on a big occasion like the finals,” he said, as per multiple outlets. Despite the talks, Rohit opted to go with Varun Chakravarthy in that match.

The final proved a similar story for Arshdeep, as he was left out of the squad to accommodate four spinners. The decision, however, played out perfectly in favour of India as they completed a successful chase against New Zealand in 49 overs. With the Champions Trophy concluding on Sunday, Arshdeep will now have his focus set on putting up solid numbers in the 2025 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL).
