U.S. Marshals Arrest Violent Fugitive in Region Being Sought on Attempted Murder Charges in Indiana



In this report from MetroNews, a man wanted in Indiana on attempted murder charges has been caught in West Virginia.


 

According to the U.S. Marshals Southern District of West Virginia, Marvin Starcher, 56, of Garrett, Indiana, was apprehended at around 6 p.m. Monday on WV Route 16 close to the Nicholas/Fayette County line.


 


Starcher was wanted in DeKalb County, Indiana, on several charges that included attempted murder for a May 24 incident where he allegedly kidnapped and stabbed a person described as a “trail witness” and left them on the side of the road in a rural part of the county.


 


He was then believed to have stolen the victim’s vehicle and fled the area.
