Two killed, five injured in road accident in A.P.’s Krishna district

Two minors were killed and five others of a marriage party, suffered injuries when a tractor in which they were travelling overturned near Gajulapadu village in Nandiwada mandal in Krishna district, on Thursday (May 8, 2025) morning.

The deceased were identified as Mutyala Tharun (16) and Kanakapalli Abhisheik (15), natives of Vinnakota mandal, Gudlavalleru mandal, the police said.

According to an eyewitness, the accident occurred when the tractor in which the marriage party was travelling overturned when the driver reportedly tried to take out the mobile phone from his trouser pocket.

The victims were on the way to attend a marriage at Gajulapadu village in Nandiwada mandal on Thursday morning.

The injured, K. Nagaraju, V. Chandrashekar, Ch. Prasanna Babu, M. Ravi Kiran and K. Prem Sanjeev Kumar a youth suffered injuries in the mishap. They were shifted to a private hospital.

The deceased, Arun Babu, was pursuing first year Polytechnic course, while Abhisheik was a ninth class dropout, the villagers said.
