Trump claims he knows 'nothing' about post floating Jamie Dimon endorsement

Former President Trump says he knew “nothing” about a Friday TruthSocial post on his account falsely claiming he’d been endorsed by JPMorgan Chase CEO Jamie Dimon.

“I don’t know anything about it,” Trump told NBC reporter Jake Traylor as he campaigned in Evans, Georgia.

When Traylor asked about the post from the ex-president’s Truth Social account, he said, “Somebody put it up – no I don’t know.”

Dimon denied that he endorsed the former president shortly after the the post published on Friday. The business leader has been outspoken about not endorsing a candidate in this year’s election, authoring an August Washington Post column emphasizing that he hopes the next commander-in-chief works to “unite” the nation.

“Our best leaders strengthen the bonds that unite us. They address the broader interests of our country and don’t pander to base politics or cater to extremes,” Dimon wrote.

He also suggested that more American leaders seek to include business leaders in their cabinet.

Earlier in the summer, Trump squashed rumors about selecting Dimon for a cabinet position, accusing the “radical left” of spreading the story.

“I don’t know who said it, or where it came from, perhaps the Radical Left, but I never discussed, or thought of, Jamie Dimon or Larry Fink for Secretary of the Treasury,” Trump said.

Dimon previously supported Nikki Haley in her bid for the White House, which Trump criticized, calling him a “highly overrated globalist” last November.
