Tensions flare between France and Israel after UNIFIL peacekeepers injured in Lebanon

Emmanuel Macron said in a cabinet meeting on Tuesday that Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu “must not forget that his country was created by a decision of the UN”, after Macron said last week that imposing an arms embargo on Israel was the only way to stop the conflict in the Middle East. Macron’s comments came after Israeli fire injured two UN peacekeepers in Lebanon last week.
