Syria announces Aleppo ceasefire after deadly clashes force thousands to flee




Syria’s defence ministry announced a ceasefire in Aleppo on Friday after days of clashes between government forces and Kurdish fighters that killed at least 21 people and displaced thousands, the worst violence since Islamist authorities took power last year. The army has been battling the U.S.-backed Syrian Democratic Forces since Tuesday.
