‘She’s on a fundraising comedy tour’

Former President Donald Trump ripped Vice President Kamala Harris on Wednesday for going on a media blitz as the thousands of Americans are still reeling from the devastation wrought by Hurricane Helene.

After largely avoiding media interviews, Harris, 59, had made appearances this week on “The View,” Howard Stern’s radio program and Stephen Colbert’s late-night show – even sharing a sip of beer with the comedian.

“She’s on a fundraising comedy tour while people are stranded and drowning all over some of our greatest states,” Trump said during a rally in Reading, Pa.

Trump, 78, charged that while making the rounds with friendly outlets and adding to her campaign coffers, the vice president has presided over “the worst hurricane response since Katrina.”

“As the floodwaters rose in North Carolina, Georgia and Alabama, Virginia, South Carolina, Florida, Tennessee … Kamala flew to a fundraiser in San Francisco, a city she absolutely destroyed,” the former president said.

Hurricane Helene made landfall as a category 4 storm on Sept. 26 – two days later, Harris spoke at a fundraiser at the San Francisco Palace of Fine Arts.

Both Harris and Trump have visited storm ravaged North Carolina and Georgia since Helene’s landfall.

Trump suggested that Harris’ sudden flurry of media interviews is actually working against her, arguing that nobody is making the case against her candidacy better than she is.

“Kamala just said that she can’t think of one thing she’d do differently than [President Biden],” the former president told the crowd, referring to the vice president’s response to a question on “The View” Tuesday.

“Really, nobody makes the case against lying Kamala Harris better than Kamala herself,” Trump said.

Harris, who’s first interview with a major news outlet came more than a month after Biden ended his re-election bid, has also recently granted interviews to “60 Minutes” and Alex Cooper’s “Call Her Daddy” podcast.

“Kamala recorded a podcast known for its graphic content. Can you believe it?” Trump said, apparently referring to Cooper’s podcast.

“She did nothing as people struggled on the ground,” he added.

“Despite all of this, Kamala Harris said she wouldn’t do anything – she’s not going to do anything differently.”

Going back to Harris’ appearance on “The View,” Trump argued that “her answer that she would do nothing different is disqualifying.”
