Sheriff Matheny Reveals First Quarter Delinquent Tax Totals, Reminder on Info from State Tax Department




The Harrison County Sheriff’s Office’s Tax Division has released delinquent tax recovery totals for the first quarter of 2025.


 


The total collected in from January through March is $651,298.44. That includes a collection of $168,548.01 in January; a collection of $209,511.08 in February; and a total of $173,239.35 in March.


 


Harrison County Sheriff Robert Matheny II said the collections would not be possible without the dedicated staff members of the Tax Division and former Sheriff Robert G. Matheny who implemented processes for fair and equitable delinquent tax recovery.


 


Sheriff Matheny also issued a reminder for the community to watch for form TSD 454 (Motor Vehicle Property Tax Adjustment Credit) from the West Virginia Tax Department in respect to personal property taxes.
