Severe heatwave in southern Europe pushes temperatures above 40°C




A major heatwave pushed temperatures above 40°C (104°F) in Italy, Spain and Greece Monday as climate change makes extreme weather increasingly common in southern Europe. In southwestern France, wildfires forced the evacuation of a campsite and an abbey, while in Turkey, more than 50,000 people were evacuated as firefighters battled a string of wildfires.
