An eyewitness says there are between 50 and 60 teenagers and young people “hanging out” at the scene, where bricks and stones have reportedly been thrown at vehicles including a Fiat 500.

“The Fiat has been completely smashed in. Its windows have been stoved in,” they told the Manchester Evening News.

“The police are here, but they’re circling around at the moment. At a rough guess I’d say there are about 50-60 people hanging about, but a lot of residents are also coming out.”
