Police investigate after man found shot in McGehee

MCGEHEE, Ark. — Update: According to the Desha County Sheriff’s Office, 19-year-old Johntavious Owens has been taken into custody in Oklahoma City by the U.S. Marshals. He will be extradited back to Desha County.

Arkansas State Police are currently investigating a shooting death in McGehee that took place on December 14.

Officials discovered 20-year-old Kevin Morgan in the driver’s seat of a white Chevy Avalanche parked outside of a residence on North Street.

According to reports, Morgan appeared to have suffered a gunshot wound to the back of his head. His body was sent to the Arkansas State Crime Laboratory to determine the cause and manner of death.
