Pedestrian killed in crash, Phoenix police say impairment is being investigated

PHOENIX, Arizona — A man was hit by a car and killed Monday night when he was standing outside his legally parked car in Phoenix, according to police. 

David Mills, 60, was hit near 24th and Glenrosa avenues around 9:50 p.m. on March 2.

Mills was taken to the hospital with serious injuries and was later pronounced dead, police said. 

According to authorities, the driver of the car involved stayed on scene. 

Police said impairment is being investigated as a contributing factor, and they are waiting on the toxicology results of the involved driver, along with other evidence, to make charging decisions.
