Overnight freeze, frost possible across Central Arkansas | What to know

Temperatures as low as the upper 20s will be possible for parts of Arkansas on Sunday morning. Here’s what you need to know.
LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — After a cool, gloomy start to the weekend, portions of the state may see their first freeze of the season on Sunday morning.
The National Weather Service in Little Rock has issued a Freeze Warning for portions of north west, north central and west central Arkansas, and a frost advisory has been issued for much of central Arkansas.
This is due, in part, to a cold front that moved through the state on Saturday. Behind that front, cooler, drier air is moving in.
High pressure will move out of Oklahoma and into the Natural State overnight into Sunday. That cooler air, combined with quieter winds will set the scene for the frost potential.
For those locations under the freeze warning, temperatures as low as 27 degrees are expected.
Now is the time to take the proper precautions in protecting your plants and exposed pipes.
Monday morning may bring another round of possible frost, but morning lows will warm through the days ahead.
