One of West Virginia’s Biggest Tourist Destinations, Snowshoe Mountain, Set to See Massive New Facility

A long-standing facility at Snowshoe Mountain resort is set to get major improvement at its Pocahontas County home.

According to a social media post on the Snowshoe Mountain Facebook page, the Shavers Center will see an updated version of its old self. The facility, which handles skier services, has been in place for nearly half a century.

Here is what the Facebook post says:

“It’s official – Next month we will break ground on a new and improved Shavers Center here on the mountain!

“This new skier services facility will be an updated, modern version of the original Shavers Center that served the mountain for nearly 50 years. Featuring an open, spacious interior as well as a large outside deck with firepits and extra seating, the new building will offer a comfortable atmosphere for folks to gather, rest, and dine as well as programming for Kids World & Pre-Ski.

“The new Shavers Center is expected to open by mid-December for the 2025/26 winter season. Keep an eye out for further updates as the structure gets underway.”
