One Individual Killed, Another Left Critically Injured as Result of Vehicle Crashing into WVDOH Dump Truck




According to information provided in a press release from the Nicholas County Sheriff’s Department, a man from Tennessee died Monday morning when his vehicle crashed into a West Virginia Division of Highways dump truck on U.S. Route 19.


 


The press release states that Ronald Carelli, 54, of Hixson, Tennessee, was traveling south on Route 19 at Mount Nebo when his car hit a WVDOH dump truck. The collision occurred  at the stoplight at the intersection with West Virginia State Route 41


 


The accident took place just prior to 9:30 a.m.


 


According to the release, Carelli was pronounced dead shortly after the accident at Summersville Regional Medical Center. Misty Carelli, 52, a passenger in the vehicle and also a resident of Hixson, was not killed. However, she was critically injured and flown to Charleston Area Medical Center (CAMC) for treatment.


 


The WVDOH driver did not get injured in the accident. The investigation is ongoing.
