Nellore-based para athlete gets ₹1 lakh from NRI Cell

Sports Authority of Andhra Pradesh (SAAP) Chairman Animini Ravi Naidu urged the members of NRI (Non-resident Indians) Cell to provide financial support to international para athlete Bhavani, who hails from a poor family in Nellore. The NRI Cell responded immediately and donated ₹1 lakh to the athlete.

She received the cheque from Minister for MSME and NRI Affairs Kondapalli Srinivas, Minister for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME), NRI Cell coordinator Rajasekhar, and donor Lagadapati Subbarao, in Vijayawada on Monday.

On the occasion, Mr. Ravi Naidu said that the financially struggling sportspersons need encouragement from the NRIs. He thanked the NRI who provided the financial incentive to Ms. Bhavani.
