Mother and daughter killed, one injured in mobile home fire near Birmingham

A mother and daughter died, and another woman was injured, in a mobile home fire early Sunday morning in Moody, about 25 miles from Birmingham.

The St. Clair County coroner identified the deceased as Jane Murphy, 77, and Ingrid Murphy, 57. A 32-year-old woman, also a relative, was transported to UAB Hospital for burn treatment, according to WVTM13,

The mobile home was fully engulfed in flames when firefighters arrived at the scene on Mt Olive Road around 2 a.m.

Moody fire and police departments and state fire marshal are jointly investigating the cause of the blaze.
