Man Rescued in Harrison County after Trying to Save Dog that Fell into Frozen Pond; Dog Dies in Incident




According to WBOY, a man was rescued and taken to the hospital after trying to save a dog that fell into a frozen pond Wednesday morning.


 


Firefighters and EMS crews responded to Water Slide Road in remote Harrison County just before 8:45 a.m. on Feb. 20 for a water rescue at Water Slide Pond.


 


The Reynoldsville Volunteer Fire Department told 12 News that a dog had fallen through the ice about 30 feet into the center of the pond. A man in his 50s took a watercraft into the pond to try to save the dog and fell in, according to the Harrison County 911 Communications Center.
