A child has died after a minibus overturned on an exit slip road on the M4.

Other passengers on the minibus were rushed to hospital after sustaining serious injuries, police said.

The incident led to a section of the M4 being closed in both directions near Reading, Berkshire, causing long delays. The road was opened hours later.

An air ambulance, six ambulances and five critical care units were sent to the scene, as well as crews from Royal Berkshire Fire & Rescue.

In its latest update, Thames Valley Police said the incident was a single vehicle collision and that no arrests have been made.
