Live updates: Congress gives Trump his first legislative win; Republicans form their own Jan. 6 panel

Rubber is meeting the road in President Trump’s first week back at the White House.

The administration warned federal workers in roles related to diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) that they would be placed on paid leave in less than 24 hours. And it ordered the Pentagon to send 1,500 additional troops to the southern border.

They were the latest moves in a swirl of executive orders and resolutions that started Monday.

The House on Wednesday afternoon passed the Laken Riley Act, sending it to Trump’s desk for his first legislative win.

The president sat down with Fox News’s Sean Hannity for an interview on Wednesday morning, which will air at 9 p.m. EST.

And in the Senate, Transportation secretary nominee Sean Duffy sailed through a Senate panel and his confirmation may now head to the floor.
