We all have frustrations in our personal lives: traffic jams coming home from work, milk running out, that one sink that won’t stop clogging. And we all have ideas for how to make it better — like telling your partner to just call the dang plumber already.
But what if we stepped back for a second and looked at our community as a whole. What are the problems in Colorado’s life — and how do we make them better?
Do you have ideas about how to improve housing? How to fix recycling? How to expand the arts? Now is your chance to get together with fellow Coloradans to talk about it.
The Colorado Sun will be joined by more than 30 experts, lawmakers and state officials to talk about how to make Colorado a better state during our annual Colorado SunFest 2025 on May 16 at The University of Denver.
Colorado SunFest 2025: Big Ideas for a Better Colorado will convene Coloradans from around the state to discuss solutions surrounding politics, outdoors, environment and education.
The daylong event will be held at the Josef Korbel School of International Studies at The University of Denver and will include one-on-one conversations, panel discussions and featured keynotes with Colorado Attorney General Phil Weiser and famed TV producer Mark McKinnon.

“We’re thrilled to be able to convene great conversations with thought leaders, political leaders and our readers about some of the big issues we’re facing in our state,” Sun publisher Larry Ryckman said. “As a nonpartisan news outlet, it’s not our job to tell you what a better Colorado looks like. But, at a time when there is so much that divides us, it’s exciting to come together with people from diverse backgrounds and a common goal of finding solutions.”
Along with McKinnon and Weiser, speakers include Teller County Sheriff Jason Mikesell, New Bridge Strategy Director Kathryn Hahne, Deputy Colorado Attorney General Nathan Blake, Director of Outdoor Recreation Industry for Colorado Conor Hall, Dr. Jeremy Haefner, chancellor of the University of Denver, and more than 20 others.
Colorado SunFest tickets close at 11:59 p.m. Monday for advanced tickets. Tickets will be sold at the doors Friday.
