Injuries reported in car crash on Loop 202 in East Valley



The crash occurred in Chandler near Kyrene Road.

TEMPE, Ariz. — A four-vehicle collision reported Thursday morning is blocking access to the eastbound lanes of the Loop 202 freeway.

The crash occurred in Chandler near Kyrene Road, officials said.

The Arizona Department of Public Safety said at least two people, including a child, had to be extricated from a vehicle. 

DPS said an 8-year-old girl has sustained life-threatening injuries.

Motorists can expect delays in this area and should seek an alternate route. The freeway’s westbound lanes have not been affected.
