Hulu will no longer be supported on Nintendo Switch, a loss of one of the few streaming sites on the platform

Disney continues the march towards eliminating the standalone Hulu app with content from the streaming service being moved to Disney+. Eventually, the Hulu app will go dark as Disney creates a single site under its Disney+ brand.

As that process continues, fans of one popular platform will soon find Hulu unavailable on their device.

Nintendo confirmed the Hulu app is being discontinued on the Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2. Support for the application will end Feb. 5.

According to tech site ScreenRant.com, the Hulu app has already been deleted from the Nintendo Switch eShop, preventing new downloads.

Hulu was one of the few mainstream streaming platforms available on Switch systems, which often serve as gaming consoles and portable entertainment streaming devices, the site explained.

Hulu content on Disney+

Hulu’s content is now available on Disney+ and the stand-alone Hulu app is set to go dark later this year, though Disney hasn’t confirmed the date.

The change, Disney said, is in “preparation for a fully integrated unified app experience” with the services.

Hulu was first launched in 2007. Disney gained full control of Hulu earlier this year after acquiring it from Comcast for $9.2 billion.
