Gov. Sanders declares state of emergency for incoming winter weather
LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders has issued a state of emergency as severe winter weather prepares to enter the state on Tuesday, February 18.
This executive action will allow emergency response vehicles to bypass all Arkansas Department of Transportation weigh station facilities through February 24.
This authorization does not include vehicles that require permits to operate on state roadways or relieve size and weight restrictions.
Officials confirmed that this only applies to weigh stations and to vehicles traveling in convoys.
The state of emergency will stay in effect until February 24, unless terminated or extended by an amendment to this order.
