Gallego holds 10-point lead over Lake in Arizona Senate race survey



Rep. Ruben Gallego (D-Ariz.) has a ten point lead over Republican Kari Lake in the Arizona Senate race according to a Napolitan News Service poll released Monday.

Fifty-two percent of voters said they would vote for Gallego, compared to 42 percent of respondents who said they would support Lake. Five percent of participants were unsure of who they’d cast their ballot for, while 1 percent supported someone else.

Ninety-five percent of Democrats are in favor of Gallego while 81 percent of GOP members favor Lake. Both candidates received an almost equal share of support from the state’s male voters.

Gallego bested Lake with 50 percent of male voters’ support, Lake received 48 percent of support from the demographic, 2 percent were unsure and one percent supported someone else.

A majority of respondents had an unfavorable view of Lake at 58 percent while 38 percent had a favorable view. Equal percentages of Arizona voters (46 percent) had favorable and unfavorable views of Gallego.

The Democratic candidate was favored by 54 percent of women voters compared to 37 percent who favored the Republican candidate, 9 percent were unsure.

Fifty-six percent of survey takers in between the age of 18 to 34 supported Gallego while 32 percent were in favor of Lake, 12 percent were unsure.

Gallego also resonated with white voters earning 48 percent of their support compared to Lake’s 46 percent, 5 percent of people were unsure and one percent supported someone else.

More than half of Hispanic voters favored Gallego at 56 percent compared to 36 percent who favored Lake and 8 percent who were unsure. 

Researchers surveyed 783 likely voters online from Sept. 30 to Oct. 2. Field work for the survey was conducted by RMG Research, Inc. with a plus or minus 3.5 percentage point margin of error.
