Elisa Dinaldo and Anthony Hazey are February 2025 Bridgeport High School Students of the Month



Bridgeport High School Principal Renee’ Mathews has announced that Elisa Dinaldo and Anthony Hazey are the December, 2024 Students of the Month. Below is a profile of each student.


 

Elisa Dinaldo the daughter of Sarah and Joey Dinaldo, and the sister of AJ Dinaldo, a former BHS graduate.


 


Throughout her years at BHS, Elisa has been an active participant in a variety of extracurriculars, including Key Club, Spanish Honor Society, Spanish Club, French Club, and National Honor Society. Her involvement in these clubs has not only allowed her to grow as an individual but also provided her with opportunities to give back to her school and community.


 


Elisa is a member of the BHS Orchestra. In addition, she has been a member of the Girl’s Soccer team for all four years. This year, she has taken on the role of Treasurer for the National Honor Society and as the International Fair Chair for the Spanish Honor Society.


 


Over the past two years, Elisa has taken Advanced Placement courses in AP Psychology and AP Calculus AB. In addition to AP classes, Elisa has completed five dual-credit courses, including College Algebra, College Trigonometry, College English, Sociology, and Medical Terminology. These courses not only allowed her to gain college credit while still in high school but also provided her with a solid foundation for future studies in higher education.


 


She has received both the State and National Seal of Biliteracy in Spanish. Furthermore, Elisa was awarded the National Rural and Small-Town College Board Award.


 


Her involvement in a wide range of extracurricular activities, combined with her academic achievements and leadership roles, demonstrates her commitment to making the most of her high school experience. 


 

Anthony Hazey is the son of doctors Michael and Carrie Hazey, and the brother to Emma.


 


Anthony is a four-year member of the Bridgeport High School golf team, jazz band, orchestra, and a two-year member of the marching band. In addition to his extracurriculars, Anthony has received the BHS Academic Boosters lamps and letters award his sophomore, junior, and senior year. He is also a member of the National Honor Society, and enjoys volunteering throughout the community to help others in need. 


 


Outside of school, Anthony attends All Saints Catholic Church where he enjoys helping teach Sunday School classes and playing saxophone during mass. On the weekends, he enjoys spending time with family and friends, being outdoors, and traveling. While he is an avid golfer, hiking is a pastime he enjoys with his dad, going on many trips in the mountains throughout the state.  His favorite childhood memories are attending WVU football games with his dad, and going on trips with his family, traveling to as many places as possible and learning about their history and culture.


 


Throughout his time at BHS, Anthony has taken multiple AP and honors courses where he has found his passion in writing and history. He plans to continue his education at West Virginia University where he will study political science with hopes on attending Law school in the future.
