Crash in Phoenix kills 1
One person died from their injuries at the scene.
PHOENIX — One person is dead after a crash in central Phoenix, according to officials with the Phoenix Police Department.
Officers were called to an area near 19th Avenue and Bethany Home Road at 8 p.m. for reports of a crash. When crews arrived, they found a person in the road with signs of trauma, officials said. The fire department determined that the person died at the scene.

Officers are in the area interviewing witnesses and working to identify vehicles possibly involved. It is unclear if the responsible vehicle left the scene.
Bethany Home Road is closed in both directions between 19th and 21st avenues as detectives investigate.
