Cardinals set to choose Pope Francis' successor, world waits for white smoke




Roman Catholic cardinals will start electing a new pope on Wednesday, sequestering themselves in the Vatican’s Sistine Chapel after a Mass in St. Peter’s Basilica. The conclave, a tradition dating to medieval times, seeks a successor to Pope Francis, who died last month, to lead a divided Church.
