BHS Student Council Hosts Homeroom Special Olympics, Raises 1,000-Plus Food Items for Shepherd’s Corner

This week at Bridgeport High School, each homeroom participated in the exciting Homeroom Olympics. From Monday through Thursday, classes competed in preliminary events, with the top homeroom from each class advancing to the finals on Friday. Every school year, most students participate in and watch the games, cheering on their classmates.

On Monday, students participated in a water balloon toss and the snake game. Tuesday featured spike ball and kan jam, while Wednesday included knockout and a relay race. On Thursday, participants played the cup grab game and volleyball.

BHS Student Council collected two canned food items from each student throughout the week as their ticket. The collected food will be donated to Shepherd’s Corner.

During the finals, each class winner from the preliminaries faced off against another class in the same game until only one class remained.

Awards were given for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place, with points given to each class, which were counted to see who would win the BHS Spirit Stick. The freshmen came out on top and won the Spirit Stick during Friday’s events.

Over 1100 items of non-perishable food items were collected during the Homeroom Olympics.
