BHS Frosh Lance Pitrolo Earns Hardware, as Well as All-State Status, at Recent State Chess Championship


Bridgeport High School had just to participate in the 54th Annual WV Scholastic Chess Championship in Charleston at the Wilson Student Union on the campus of West Virginia State University back on Saturday, March 15.


 


As it turns out, that student fared quite well. Lance Pitrolo, a freshman at Bridgeport High, finished in third place at the competition.


 


Pitrolo’s efforts netted him West Virginia All-State Chess status for 2025. He one of four competitors to earn the recognition.
