Arkansas State Police launch investigation into deadly Camden shooting

CAMDEN, Ark. — The Arkansas State Police (ASP) Criminal Investigation Division is now investigating a homicide at the request of the Camden Police Department (CPD).

According to reports, at about 5:45 p.m. on October 19, CPD officers were called with reports of a shooting at an apartment in the 100 block of Fort Lookout Manor in Camden.

Once they arrived, officers found a woman identified as 22-year-old Kimaria Wilson inside the apartment, suffering from what appeared to be a gunshot wound.

Despite life-saving efforts, at about 8:30 p.m., Wilson was ultimately pronounced dead at the scene by the Ouachita County Coroner.

The body has since been sent to the Arkansas State Crime Lab to determine the exact cause of death.
