Arizona police use AI tech to generate image of kidnapping suspect

GOODYEAR, Ariz. — Goodyear police have used new technology to generate an image of a man who tried to kidnap a young girl earlier this month.
Police said the young student was walking near Village Boulevard and Watkins Street, when a man grabbed her and tried to drag her toward Hilton Street. The incident happened at the beginning of April.

The girl was able to escape the man and run home to her parents, police said.
According to police, “groundbreaking artificial intelligence and forensic art” was used to generate an image of the suspect who tried to kidnap the girl.

The man is described as between 50 and 60 years old, with blue eyes and brown hair. He is around 6 feet tall and weighs 200 pounds.
“We are hopeful that these new techniques and AI technology will assist in solving more complex cases in the future, here in Arizona and around the country,” police said in a news release.
