Alabama’s Kalen DeBoer ‘disappointed’ with Crimson Tide vs. South Carolina: ‘Have to be better’

Kalen DeBoer said he was disappointed after the first half of Alabama’s game with South Carolina.
The No. 4 Tide led the Gamecocks 14-6.
“Just disappointed,” DeBoer told the Crimson Tide Sports Network. “We can’t make the easy plays, the easy throws. It is right here. It’s the suff we practice.”
The Tide started the game with 12 plays for 45 yards before putting together a nine-play, 81-yard touchdown drive.
Still, Alabama has 2 rushing yards.
“It’s not what we want,” DeBoer told ABC at halftime. “It’s not what it’s supposed to look like. We just have to make the easy throws, easy catches, and give our guys a chance.
“It’s execute the base stuff. We’re trying to do too much sometimes.”
The Tide defense, which came up with a pick 6, has held South Carolina to 169 total years, including just 28 rushing yards.
“Defense is doing a nice job of buckling down, especially when they gets us down in the red zone,” DeBoer said.
His message to the team at halftime is simple: “We have to be better.”
“I know we’ll come back and keep swinging,” he said. “It was a nice job there on fourth down to get a touchdown in a critical moment.
Ty Simpson, who was 11 of 21 for 171 yards, found Josh Cuevas on fourth down for a 3-yard touchdown.
