Alabama baseball player apologizes for ‘inappropriate photo’ directed at Ohio State
Riley Quick took to social media Sunday to apologize for an “inappropriate photo” directed at Ohio State after Alabama rallied from a 10-run deficit to beat the Buckeyes 12-10 in Jacksonville, Florida.
“After our game today, we let our emotions get the best of us and posted an inappropriate photo on social media,” the Tide pitcher said. “The photo never should have happened.”
In the picture, a number of Alabama players are flipping off the camera with a caption, “F–k the O,” a reference to Ohio State.
“I am reaching out to Ohio State to personally apologize for representing The University of Alabama in a negative way,” Quick added. “This is not what our team is about. We have learned from this and will be better moving forward.”
Will Hodo connected on a three-run, walk-off homer in the ninth to clinch the win for Alabama, which ran its record to 8-0. Justin Lebron added two home runs and six RBs, while Kade Snell managed a double and two RBI as part of his 3-for-5 day at the plate.
The 10-run rally is the largest comeback in program history, surpassing the Tide’s 11-9 victory against Kentucky on April 11, 2010, when Alabama trailed 9-0.
