French PM Barnier unveils deficit-slashing 2025 budget




French Prime Minister Michel Barnier presented on Thursday a deficit-slashing budget to his cabinet ahead of a likely battle in parliament. In office for just over a month, Barnier recently survived a no-confidence vote brought by left-wing deputies, who argue they should lead the government instead of the conservative premier following an inconclusive legislative election.
