LOS ANGELES (KABC) — A burglary suspect on Friday morning was leading LAPD officers on a chase through the San Fernando Valley that at times reached speeds of up to 100 mph.
The pursuit was ongoing shortly after 10:30 a.m. as the driver of a black sedan made their way along surface streets after exiting the 101 Freeway. At least four Los Angeles Police Department cruisers were following close behind.
Whether any passengers were in the car was unclear.
Shortly before 11 a.m. the driver entered the 405 Freeway in Encino and headed northbound through North Hills amid light traffic.
The car exited the freeway in Mission Hills, drove under the freeway and then used an exit ramp to reenter the freeway. The driver made a U-turn on the freeway and headed south on the 405.
Moments later, the sedan again got off the freeway in North Hills and stopped briefly at a gas station, at the intersection of Nordhoff Street and Aqueduct Avenue.
The chase continued after an LAPD patrol vehicle pulled into the gas station.
Details about the alleged burglary were not immediately available.
