Tory leader Kemi Badenoch has blasted “evil Islamist sectarianism” after voters were warned “Allah sees everything” ahead of the upcoming Local Elections on May 1.
Pro-Palestine activists have circulated videos directing voters on which county council candidates to support in Wycombe based on whether they would back a boycott of Israeli goods if elected on May 1.
Some 18 candidates out of 81 candidates received a “green tick” in the videos after backing “divestment from companies involved in human rights violations” in Israel’s war against Hamas.
The names of the remaining 63 candidates appear in red text with a cross next to their names because they either said they were opposed to a boycott or did not give a response.

“It’s clear who is supporting genocide and subservient to their masters”, the caption accompanying the footage said.
“Think before you vote. Separate the clout seekers from humans who will make a difference. Don’t sell your soul as Allah sees everything.”
One video features the logo of the High Wycombe branch of the Palestine Solidarity Campaign (PSC) – which said it had no knowledge of the video and was not involved in producing it.
But the reference to Allah has sparked concerns that voters may be being subjected to “undue spiritual interference”, a criminal offence under electoral law.

“It is evil, make no mistake, and it stands against everything we believe in. Every day millions of people flee countries where this sort of politics is practised.
“It does not belong in Britain and threatens our democracy and our way of life.”
Ex-Wycombe MP Steve Baker, who lost to Labour by just 4,591 ballots, urged residents in the Buckinghamshire tow to resist the rise of religious sectarianism.
He said: “It’s profoundly against the interests of Wycombe and the whole UK to see this rise in religious sectarian politics.
Pro-Palestine protesters in London Getty“Since the General Election, we’ve seen that far from promoting the interest of innocent Palestinians, what people have done by voting on religious lines is promote fear and hatred amongst the mainstream of British people.”
Baker added: “I’ve seen the legacy of religious sectarian politics. It’s not a healthy way to go.”
Wycombe, alongside the rest of Buckinghamshire, will return councillors to its unitary authority after polls close at 10pm on May 1.
The Tories hold 105 seats, with the Liberal Democrats on 13 and Labour on just six.
Kemi BadenochPAThere are also 16 independent councillors, an additional four from local resident groupings and one each for Reform UK and the Green Party.
However, with major boundary changes reducing the number of councillors to 97, research conducted by Electoral Calculus suggests some serious changes in 2025.
The Tories look poised to retain top spot, with 59 Conservative councillors liking ensuring control of Buckinghamshire County Council.
But the Liberal Democrats look set to secure 19 wards, with Labour winning in 11 and Reform UK picking up four.
