Man seriously injured after being hit by car in Phoenix

PHOENIX — A man is in critical condition after being hit by a car in Phoenix on Wednesday.

Officers were called to the intersection of 7th Avenue and Fillmore Street at 5:40 p.m. for reports of a person being hit by a car, officials said. They found a man at the scene with serious injuries.
The man was taken to a nearby hospital in critical condition. The driver who hit the man did stay at the scene, police said.
The intersection is expected to be shut down for an extended period of time for an investigation.
No other details about the crash were released.
