Luka Doncic put on a clinic against his former team with a monster triple-double.

LOS ANGELES — One thing Mavericks fans will probably never get used to: Luka Doncic in Lakers gold. One thing Mavericks fans will always be used to: Luka Doncic putting up monster stat lines.

In his first game against Dallas, Doncic put on a clinic, beating his former team 107-99. After the first quarter, Luka was already on triple-double watch, though he didn’t secure one until the 4th quarter off an assist to Austin Reeves.

Doncic finished with 19 points, 15 rebounds, 12 assists, three steals and two blocks.

Despite filling the stat sheet, Doncic had his share of empty possessions. Luka shot 6-17 (35.3%) from the field and 1-7 (14.3%) from deep. Still, he made up for it on the offensive end by setting up several key plays for the Lakers that helped secure them the win over his former team.

For Mavericks fans, the silver lining is that this was a close game, despite the laundry list of injuries hampering Dallas.
