Two Area Woman Arrested on Fentanyl Charges after Bringing Drug Across State Lines for Distribution

On Feb. 21, 2022, deputies with the Upshur County Sheriff’s Office received a tip that a resident of Buckhannon was planning to transport suspected fentanyl into West Virginia from outside of the state.


 


Deputies worked to corroborate this tip and identified a supsect vehicle. At approximately 9 p.m. on Feb. 22, the suspect vehicle in question passed by Law Enforcement on U.S. Route 33 and attempted to elude officers to behind the Wingate Hotel on Commerce Boulevard. 


 


During a subsequent search and investigation, deputies located approximately 200 individual packages of suspected fentanyl, with a street value of $3,000.


 


Rebecca D. Glover, 41, of Buckhannon, has been charged with transporting fentanyl into West Virginia. Also, Kelly D. Harvey, 40, of Buckhannon, was arrested and charged with possession with intent to delivery fentanyl, and conspiracy to delivery fentanyl. 


 


Deputy Gordon was the lead investigator on this case. The Upshur County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by West Virginia State Police and the Buckhannon Police Department.
