1 person dead after house fire in Arizona

The fire happened at a home near 99th Avenue and Thunderbird Road in Sun City on Saturday. Here’s the latest information.

SUN CITY, Ariz. — One person was found dead after a house fire in Sun City, according to the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office.

MCSO told 12News a home on the 13800 block of 97th Avenue in Sun City caught fire just after 8 p.m. on Saturday. That is just northeast of the intersection of 99th Avenue and Thunderbird Road.

Deputies responded to help block the road as Phoenix firefighters worked to put out the fire.

After the fire was extinguished, Phoenix firefighters were able to enter the home, where they found an adult dead, according to MCSO.

12News has reached out to the Phoenix Fire Department for more information.

MCSO said they will be investigating the person’s death.

The person who died in the fire was not identified.
