Onyx Coffee Lab named best coffee shop in North America

ROGERS, Ark. — Onyx Coffee Lab in Rogers has been named the number one coffee shop in North America and the number two coffee shop in the world.

The list was released by “The World’s 100 Best Coffee Shops,” a group that ranks coffee shops, and criteria for the ranking included quality of coffee, barista expertise, customer service, innovation, ambience and atmosphere, sustainability practices, food and pastry quality, and consistency.

According to the group’s website, coffee enthusiasts worldwide, alongside an expert panel, were invited to cast their votes for the ranking.

Onyx took to social media on Wednesday night to celebrate the results.

“We are thrilled to announce that we have been voted 2nd in the World and 1st in North America for the best coffee shop! We were honored to accept this award this past weekend in Madrid and want to thank @theworlds100bestcoffeeshops for organizing the thousands of votes and time it took to determine the list of cafes all around the globe,” Onyx said.

The company said that the coffee industry is a special one and one that they’re proud to be part of. Onyx also thanked the community for supporting the business.

“Our passion for hospitality, intentional design, and community keep us going each day to find better ways to make everyone feel welcome. You are the reason behind it all, we couldn’t do it without you,” Onyx said.

Onyx Coffee Lab came in second in the worldwide competition, just behind Toby’s Estate Coffee Roasters in Australia and just ahead of Gota Coffee Experts in Austria. They were the only U.S. coffee shop in the top 10 worldwide.

Headquartered in Rogers, Onyx has locations in Bentonville, Fayetteville, and Springdale.
