Arkansas sweeps Washington State to open season
The Razorbacks will face Kansas State in the College Baseball Series Friday night in Arlington, TX.
FAYETTEVILLE, Arkansas — No. 5 Arkansas baseball (4-0) defeated Washington State (0-4), 12-2, to complete the Opening Weekend series sweep.
This was the second run-ruled win of the weekend for the Razorbacks. This win also marked the 700th win in the 30-year history of Baum-Walker Stadium.
BYU transfer Kuhio Aloy opened up the scoring in the bottom of the fourth with a solo home run into the Cougars bullpen. This was the second home run of the weekend for the sophomore.
Arkansas went on to plate five runs in the frame. Washington State answered back with one run of their own in the top of the fifth.
The Razorbacks would respond with six more runs in the bottom of the inning and another run in the sixth to help secure the win.
In his Arkansas debut, Landon Beidelschies went five innings allowing one run on four hits while striking out seven.
Arkansas heads to Globe Life Field in Arlington, TX to face Kansas State Friday night in the College Baseball Series. First pitch is scheduled for 7 p.m.
